Course aims & objectives
To ensure that upon successful completion, trainees will have the skills and knowledge to design and deliver initial and recurrent training for transport security staff in the recognition of firearms, explosives, incendiary devices and their components, dangerous goods, and chemical and biological devices.
To give trainees an understanding of the threats posed by explosives and incendiary devices, as well as to introduce trainees to the look and characteristics that those devices might have.
To give trainees an understanding of the threats posed by firearms and ammunition, as well as to introduce trainees to the look and characteristics of firearms and ammunition.
To give the trainees an understanding of the varying types of detection equipment and methods available to detect firearms, ammunition, explosives and incendiary devices.
To ensure that trainees have an understanding of the threat posed by Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Weapons.
For trainees to be able to explain the impact Dangerous Goods have on aviation.
To enable trainees to understand their responsibilities as an RFX instructor.
